“Thinking will not overcome fear but action will.”
W. Clement Stone
“Action is a great restorer and builder of confidence. Inaction is not only the result, but the cause, of fear. Perhaps the action you take will be successful; perhaps different action or adjustments will have to follow. But any action is better than no action at all.”
Norman Vincent Peale
I wrote an article titled “The New F Word” awhile ago and it talked about my fear of jumping into the deep end of the pool because I couldn’t see. But just because I am disabled I didn’t think I should be any different than I was before I was disabled. So I took action and finally jumped in, and of course everything was fine. My point is sometimes you just have to acknowledge your fear then push it aside and do the thing that is scaring you the most. Disability comes with many things that could cause fear, but with some practice you will be fine, I promise.
