Sometimes when a door is slammed shut, Yvonne, the very best thing you can do is to knock on it again, and again, and again.
But I’d recommend you try all the other doors, too.
I receive notes from the universe just about daily and thought I would share this one with you. I think it is a good lesson for not only able bodied people, but people with disabilities.

“If someone is not treating you in a way that you like, remember that there are so many nice people out there. The problem is that when you love someone, you make excuses for that kind of behavior.”
“Negative thinking is subtle and deceptive. It wears many faces and hides behind the mask of excuses. It is important to strip away the mask and discover the real, root emotion.”
Robert H. Schuller
"You cannot depend on your eyes when your imagination is out of focus."
“If you really want to do it, you do it. There are no excuses.”
How is your imagine? Is it in focus or do you need help getting it back in focus? Do you believe that people with disabilities can do whatever they want to do or do you think they can only imagine doing fun things?
“The real man is one who always finds excuses for others, but never excuses himself.”
Henry Ward Beecher
“It doesn’t matter if you come from the inner city. People who fail in life are people who find lots of excuses. It’s never too late for a person to recognize that they have potential in themselves.”
“For what it’s worth … it’s never too late, or in my case too early, to be whoever you want to be. There’s no time limit. Start whenever you want. You can change or stay the same. There are no rules to this thing. We can make the best or the worst of it. I hope you make the best of it. I hope you see things that startle you. I hope you feel things you never felt before. I hope you meet people who have a different point of view. I hope you live a life you’re proud of, and if you’re not, I hope you have the courage to start all over again.”
