"Choose your goal and keep your eye on it. Never give up. Perhaps you will need to change your plan and approach your goal from a different direction, but don’t quit. Keep thinking. Keep re-planning. Keep going."
Jonathan Lockwood Huie
"Decide whether or not the goal is worth the risks involved. If it is, stop worrying. "
When you are disabled you will find that you need to find different and creative ways to get to your goals. As I have said in the past my body has been rebelling lately so I am not walking very well so now I am not only blind, but I do not have the ability to walk very far or stand for very long. As you can imagine I have been getting creative when I need to get things done.
Here’s my tip: First think through the task at hand.
Sometimes working back from your goal works best, other times you need to think first about how you are going to get from point A to point B and will you be able to get back to point A safely.
Please remember to take your safety into consideration. When you are newly disabled it will take you longer than it did before you were disabled, but it will get easier with practice. Remember to think creatively and you will be able to do more than you think!
