I am now going to tell you something that may seem controversial. But in a small way I am thankful that I lost most of my sight. Now you are probably thinking Yvonne you must have lost your mind, but let me tell you why I think this way. First, I am thankful that I am now able to help people not only the newly disabled people, but the sighted world as well. Because I was once sighted I can explain things better to a sighted person and I can "see" problems and it is easier for me to find solutions than a fully sighted person. So I feel like my blindness is a gift.
Now it’s your turn. What are you thankful that some people might not fully understand being thankful for?
