Confidence Means E Engaging

“The journey matters as much as the destination. By engaging in the moment on set, I’ve stopped rushing and now find pleasure in the collaborative process – the characters, the costumes – rather than worrying about the finished product.”
-Michelle Dockery

When you become more confident you will start to become more engaging. You may find yourself engaging with things and people you never thought possible, but with your new found confidence new people may come up to you since you will be projecting confidence and people can since confidence because that is attractive.

Like our quote today says you may now find yourself relaxing enough to engage in the moment because you are not constantly worrying about what people are thinking or saying about you. Engaging in the moment and the joy that accompanies it is more important than what others may or may not be saying.

Once you start engaging in your world you may find that you become an inspiration to others that are disabled. As we all know many people with disabilities do not have very good confidence and when you start showing them when good self-confidence is they may want to be happy like you.

Just remember if this starts to overwhelm you because you are just learning how to be confident you are allowed to take a step back. Remember what we talked about in Confidence Means…N-Nurture Themselves it is important for you to take care of yourself, that is part of being confident. It is great to help others, but remember what they say on the plane – put your oxygen mask on first. That means take care of you first so then you can help others.

When you get to the engaging stage you may find that you are not only much more confident, but happier and have more energy. As I mentioned earlier people can tell when someone has confidence. Since you are now more confident you are not worrying so much about everything and everyone so you have more energy to get the things done that you have wanted to do but never seemed to have the time or the energy to do.

As you can tell having confidence will help improve your life in many different ways and ways you probably would not even think of. I know how difficult it is to become disabled, I was sighted for the first 40 years of my life and now I am legally blind, and honestly my confidence goes up and down and that’s normal everyone goes through that, especially people with disabilities. That is why I have written this series and why I am starting this group program that will open for registration tomorrow so look for an email or post.

Now to wrap up if you have missed any articles or just want to go back and reread some of the articles just go to my blog. I would love it if you leave comments and I hope to see you in the group!
