I had said that this week’s theme of peace was inspired by the blizzard of last week and here’s why. Many times a big snow like we had brings out the best in people. The neighborhood where a friend of mine lives had their own FB page where people could connect to help each other shovel out. Crime drops, okay so maybe because they can’t get anywhere, but I really think a big snow just brings out the best in people. So just like the first quote says we have to work at peace and acceptance. One thing I heard was the news asking people to dig out fire hydrants, but no one said anything about shoveling out the curb cutouts so people in wheelchairs could get around.
Now that the everything is getting back to normal, let’s try to remember to continue working at understanding and acceptance. Maybe the disabled population needs to speak up and advocate a little more before the bad weather hits again.
